Angela Chao, the CEO of a shipping company and sister of a former US cabinet secretary, was intoxicated during a car accident, according to a report from the Blanco County Sheriff’s office. The incident occurred on February 10 when Chao drove her Tesla into a pond while leaving her family ranch. The report mentions that Chao had been at the ranch with friends, and after dinner, she was seen on camera walking unsteadily to her vehicle. The car lurched towards a wooden barrier, reversed, drove over a block wall, and entered the water. Attempts were made to rescue Chao, but she was pronounced dead after being pulled out of the submerged vehicle. Her blood alcohol concentration was found to be 0.233. Chao is the sister of a prominent political figure who served as a transportation secretary and labor secretary.
